Dogs

We have arrived at a policy of no dogs at climate camp. Guide dogs are excepted.

The reasons for not having dogs are the predictable ones:

• When there are a lot of them, they get over-excited and cause mayhem.
• Some people can't be there, or won't bring their children, if dogs are there.
• They get into fights when they meet new dogs and hurt each other, or people get hurt trying to separate them.
• Other difficulties that aren't really crucial on their own.

We know that some people will find it difficult to come without their dogs. We tried to find sensible compromises but ultimately decided that we can't reassure people about any of the above major concerns unless we have a policy of no dogs.
